Police: Woman Spits on Another Bus Passenger

Police said a 52-year-old woman spit in the face of another woman on a bus in Darien and later told police the two had been in an earlier dispute; the victim said she’d never seen the other woman before. Darien police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, the victim said, she was sitting on a transit bus near the intersection of the Post Road and Hecker Avenue when a woman, a total stranger, walked past her and spat on her, hitting the victim’s face and shirt. The victim said she had no idea why, since she had never had any interaction with her before, in any way. The bus driver pulled over the bus and called police. The suspected expectorater, a Stamford resident ,said she had been “attacked” (but not physically, she said) by three males and a female the night before in Stamford.

Police: Homeless Man Behaving Bizarrely Arrested Again

A 62-year-old, frequently homeless man arrested in Darien on a number of previous occasions over the past several years, harassed a woman in a parking lot in the Noroton Heights Shopping Center, then exposed himself during a confrontation with police officers, according to police. Darien police described the series of bizarre incidents with this account, which has accusations not proven in court:

At 7:22 p.m. on Monday, June 26, police were called to the parking lot outside Palmer’s Market on Heights Road, on a report of a man yelling at a woman. The description sounded like the same man police have confronted in similar incidents. The woman told police she was approached by the man, who asked her whether or not she “knew about the girl who was a downhill skier,” then began yelling obscenities at her. She walked away.

Police: Man Was Intoxicated, Driving and Tussling With the Guy His Ex-Girlfriend Was With

On Monday afternoon, June 12, according to Darien police, a 33-year-old man was intoxicated at 3:55 p.m., was driving in town and had gotten into a tussle with a man going out with his ex-girlfriend — and took that man’s eyeglasses. Here’s how Darien police described the situation, including accusations not proven in court:

Police were dispatched to the Darien Railroad Station on the report of an altercation. There they met the victim, who told them he came to Darien to return the driver’s license of a woman he was with the night before. While at the train station, the woman’s ex-boyfriend confronted him, and when the two were walking, the ex-boyfriend, a Stamford resident, struck the victim in the head, knocking his eyeglasses off. The Stamford man picked up the glasses, got into a black Audi and drove off.

Police: Angry Man at Darien Train Station Yells, Swears, Breaks Taxi Window

A 55-year-old man, unsteady on his feet, acted belligerent and yelled profanities in the south parking lot at Darien Railroad Station, according to police who came to the scene when a taxi driver reported that the man had broken the taxi’s window. Darien police described what happened with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

The taxi driver, backed up by another witness at the scene, told police at 5:27 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10 that the man walked up to the driver to ask if he was working. Thedriver said the man could get in the back seat of the cab, but the man — later identified by police as Donald Cavett Jr. of Richardson, Texas — instead yelled an expletive and walked away. Cavett walked back to the taxi in a way that seemed aggressive to the taxi driver, who then rolled up the windows to avoid a confrontation. Cavett then pulled on the rear passenger window, breaking it.
