If you missed Darien’s Household Hazardous Waste Day in early June, you can still drop off yours at Stamford’s collection day for the stuff today, Saturday, July 14.

A list of items accepted is at the bottom of this article.

Stamford’s collection place will be in a parking lot at Rippowam Middle School, 381 High Ridge Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 14. For all the upcoming collection days in area towns accepting items from Darien residents, this may be the closest, easiest-to-get-to spot.

Here are the other area household hazardous waste collection days accepting material from Darien residents:

Items NOT Accepted at Rippowam Middle School,
Here’s Where to Take Them

While paint will not be accepted at this event it can be brought for recycling to Keogh’s Hardware on High Ridge Road or Sherwin Williams on Hope Street, according to the Stamford city government’s recycling newsletter.

If you have a permit to use the Darien Recycling Center, then you can take paint there to be recycled — whenever the place is open.

Electronics, propane tanks, motor oil can be recycled at the Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center, 130 Magee Ave, Stamford. That recycling center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
