Two women, one in her 50s, the other in her 60s, tussled at a home on Patricia Lane on Saturday, July 25. When one called police, both wound up being charged.

Darien police gave this account (consisting of accusations not proven in court) of the incident:

Darien Police Patch Green JacketAt 9:45 a.m., police were called. When they arrived at the home, one of the women, a 60-year-old Rowayton resident, told police that the other (a 57-year-old Darien resident) had asked to borrow $65 for a medical bill. The Rowayton woman said that when she refused to give the money, an argument began, and at one point the 60-year-old tried to leave the house, but the Darien woman had her car keys and wouldn’t give them to her. The Darien woman denied having kept the keys.

The two pushed each other. The Rowayton woman said the Darien woman pushed her up against a door.

The Darien woman told police that the Rowayton woman had grabbed her arm, resulting in a minor injury. The Rowayton woman said she tried to defend herself by grabbing the Darien resident and pushing her away. Police saw that two marks on the Darien woman’s left arm were consistent with it having been grabbed.

Police charged each woman with disorderly conduct and told each to appear the following Monday, July 27, in state Superior Court in Stamford.
