Owen Fitzsimons Brice, 64, beloved fiancé of Stacey Sippel, died Oct. 15, at his home in Pawleys Island.
Owen was born in Durham, North Carolina on April 1, 1954, a son of Margaret Fitzsimons Brice and George W. Brice, Jr. M.D. of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Brice family moved to Darien in 1961, and Owen graduated from Darien High School in 1972.
He attended Duke University and graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia in 1977.
Owen made his career as an investment manager. His enthusiasm for value investing was a tremendous benefit to colleagues and investors, and he welcomed the chance to serve a term as the president of the North Carolina Security Traders Association.

After raising his children with their mother Louise in Charlotte, he moved to Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where he enjoyed fishing, biking, poker games, golf, reading, and was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers.
Surviving are: three children, Owen Fitzsimons Brice, Jr. (Leigh), John Shuford Brice, and Mary Margaret Draper “Molly” Brice of Charlotte; Owen’s fiancé, Stacey Sippel, and her son, Benjamin Nauss, of Pawleys Island; a brother, George Wilson Brice, III (Alina) of New York City; a sister, Susanne Brice Drennan, (Jim) of Charleston, South Carolina; and a granddaughter, Betsy Fitzsimons Brice.
Memorial Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church at Pawleys Island.
