A bridge maintenance project on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway in Norwalk will close lanes in both directions from now through Thursday, July 27, the state Department of Transportation has announced.

The work will be done between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. between Exits 39A and 40A. Drivers can expect lane closures on both the northbound traffic and southbound traffic sides of the highway, also known as Route 15.

The work started Thursday night (July 20).

According to the department’s announcement:

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. […]

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
