A Seagate Road woman’s minivan was broken into after the front passenger window was smashed in order for a thief to get at a purse sometime overnight Sunday to Monday, Sept. 27 to 28.
Her Queen Bee Studio purse was taken (which contained her Coach wallet, which contained $300 and various credit cards), the woman found just before 8 a.m. She soon reported the theft to police. It could not be determined what was used to break the window.
The vehicle had been parked in her driveway since 5 p.m., Sunday. Nobody heard anything unusual overnight. Other vehicles in her driveway were undisturbed.
The victim called police back at 11:30 a.m. the same day to tell them that an acquaintance of hers happened to see the items blocks away, on her property on Patricia Lane.
The woman had seen the purse while walking to her child’s bus stop. The purse was there, the wallet was in it, and the victim’s credit cards were in the wallet.
The only thing missing was the money.
Police asked neighbors in the area if they had seen anything unusual, but no one had.
