Mary was born in New York City on Jan. 19, 1929, the eldest daughter of Mary (Mame) and Daniel Meskill, proud natives of Ireland. She attended Cathedral High School of Manhattan and CCNY.

She spent her early career at Texaco and met her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert Sherman (Bob), at the Jug End Barn in Massachusetts. They spent their early family life in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and the New York area before they settled in Darien in the early 70s.

A loving mother of a large family, Mary was happiest surrounded by her children, stayed on top of current events, and was an avid reader. She was a great storyteller and loved to laugh. She was cherished and will be missed by all.
