ObitBorn in Darien, May 17, 1934 to the late Amos Roosevelt Anderson and Agnes Marie Carlson. Amos became famous and was known in police chronicles during the Prohibition era as “The Lone Wolf of the Boston Post Road,” arresting bank robbers and bootleggers trying to smuggle in alcohol from New York state.

Married to Norman for 55 years, she especially enjoyed time with family; raising five children along with loving and cherishing her six grandchildren.

Her memory will be cherished by her sister Jean Stouter, her sons Dwight, Derek and Blaine; daughters-in-law Donna and Felice; and grandchildren Dean, Joshua, Samantha, Jason, Paige and Emily; nieces, nephews, as well as by many friends. an obituary from Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home

___________

Prior to her marriage to Norman, Marge held various administrative assistant jobs in Connecticut and California. After marriage, Marge became self-employed, operating New England Word Processing Center and Elegant Wedding Calligraphy.

Marge was a 30-year member of the Easton Volunteer Emergency Medical Service, serving as chief of service for many of those years. Marge appreciated all friends at Easton EMS particularly Midge Olschan, Vicky Sinnicki, Jonathan Arnold and Dave Kmetz. For many years Marge served as president of the board of trustees for the Easton EMS and was also a member of the Southwest EMS Council, representing the Town of Easton.

Marge was also a 30-year member of the Trumbull EMS, and over the years her crew — Tom Polchowski, Bruce Silverstone, Derek Bachand, Ray Elterich, Leanne and Todd Erickson — became like a close family, which was very meaningful to her.

Marge was presented with the George A. Ganung Volunteer of the Year Recognition Award from the Connecticut EMS Conference. Established in 1990, this award is given in memory of the firefighter/EMT Ganung who was killed at the age of 62 while serving his community and is meant to recognize a volunteer for dedication to the service of others in a community.

In 2011 the Connecticut General Assembly honored her with a citation for recognized service to the community.

Marge’s family members want to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to her good friends Midge Olschan and husband Jack Solomon, who were always there for her, and to Peggie and Jim Shukie, who consistently were concerned about her — and had fun discussing the New England Patriots with her, as Marge was a devoted 25-year season ticket-holder. The family is also grateful for the excellent and attentive care from Dr. Benjamin Weisman and his staff.

Marge was a longtime member of Jesse Lee United Methodist Church in Easton, and served on various church committees, sang in the choir and cooked and baked for church events.

Marge was concerned about young people’s continuing the legacy of the church and in November she was instrumental in forming vendor-type tag sales which she hoped would be annual fund raising events for the church. Marge was pleased that Carrie June came to assist in the event, at the last minute, when sudden illness prevented her to be there.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Easton Volunteer Emergency Medical Service, P.O. Box 62, Easton, CT 06612.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
