When a Darien police officer spoke to a man and woman who were arguing Saturday afternoon on Noroton Avenue near Baker Park, the officer got the name of the man and found there was an arrest warrant issued for him, police said.

The officer arrested the man, 26, a Stamford resident, at about 2:30 p.m. on a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court.

The man had been charged with disorderly conduct by Norwalk police, then was charged with failure to appear in court in an arrest warrant issued on Oct. 17, 2016.

A Stamford resident, the man was later released on payment of a $2,500 bond posted by a bail bondsman. The man is scheduled to appear in court (Darien police did not specify which court — Stamford or Norwalk — in their news release) on Monday, April 10.

Darienite.com does not normally publish names of people arrested in cases where we don’t see a danger to others, but we do think the public should know about police arrests.
