Jeanne Marilyn Toth, 79, of Stamford Ct passed away Tuesday February 23, 2016 from complications of a stoke.
Beloved wife and mother, Jeanne was born in Darien on April 16, 1936 to Russell and Dorothy Harper. As a Darien resident, she was a proud member of Darien High School. In her teenage years she was a dancer until being struck down with meningitis. She fought back from that disease and overcame it.
On July 4, 1971 she married Robert Toth of Stamford and resided there where she was an active volunteer in many church run programs. Among them were Meals on Wheels, Goodwives and Prayer Concerns.
After her daughter Sara was born in May of 1972 she became a stay at home mom and began volunteering at Rogers Elementary School where she helped her daughters class learn the fundamentals of reading and writing. Jeanne was also a member of the PTA and a permanent fixture on class trips and functions.

Jeanne was a faithful member of Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien for 60 years, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Robert and Jeanne were both deacons of the church in the early 80s. Jeanne achieved Golden Member status in 2011. Her life revolved around family, church and helping others.
She is survived my her daughter Sara Toth Sancomb and predeceased by her father Russell Harper, her mother Dorothy Harper and her husband Robert Toth.
Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Noroton Presbyterian Church on 2011 Post Road, Darien at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. A reception is to follow in Horton Hall.
Leo P. Gallagher and Sons Funeral Home of Stamford will be handling arrangements and cremation.
