Tickets Still Available Friday for Darien Fireworks Display Saturday Night

Tickets allowing you to park at Darien High School for Saturday night’s town fireworks display will be on sale Friday, July 5 at the Parks and Recreation Department office, Room 110 in Town Hall.
The cost is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Cash and credit or debit cards are accepted. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The rain date for the display is the next night — Sunday, July 7.
Darien Parks and Recreation Department is organizing the event this year.
Here’s the night’s schedule:
—Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
—Starting at 6:45 p.m. — Darien Community Band
—Starting at 8 p.m. The Leaf Jumpers play alternative hits from the 90s through today)
—At dusk (or about 9:15 p.m.), the fireworks begin
Also part of the event are novelty items for sale by a vendor and face painting.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC RULES
Here’s what you need to know about getting in and out for the Darien fireworks display on Saturday night, and about parking when you’re there.
Police issued this announcement Wednesday:
The Darien Police Department will enforce traffic regulations and monitor security for the town’s 2019 fireworks display on Saturday, July 6 at Darien High School (DHS). (The rain date is July 7.)
The main entrance will open at 6:30 p.m.
You’ll Need a Parking Pass
A parking pass is required to park on DHS campus grounds. Parking passes can be obtained through Friday, July 5, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Town Hall Parks and Recreation Department office (Room 110).
Parking passes will not be sold at the event. (They are available in the Parks and Recreation Department at Town Hall on Friday, July 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.)
All paid parking traffic will enter DHS campus from Noroton Avenue. Parking passes must be visible on the vehicle dashboard.
If You Walk, It’s Free — But Give Yourself Time
All foot traffic and off-campus parking is free.
Guests are urged to allow sufficient time to walk to the display viewing areas to alleviate anticipated traffic problems.
Walking access is permitted onto campus from all roads that lead to DHS.
A handicapped-accesible parking permit is required to park in the limited handicapped-accesible parking spaces available.
Don’t Park Here
Due to the large number of vehicles expected, parking regulations and designated tow away zones will be strictly enforced. Vehicles in hazardous locations, impeding traffic flow, or are blocking driveways will be towed. When parking capacity has been reached, Noroton Avenue extension will be closed to vehicular traffic.
No parking will be allowed on Noroton Avenue.
Parking is permitted on the south side of the public portion of Holly Lane and the west side of Libby Lane.
Parking lots are available at Middlesex Middle School and McGuane Field.
Don’t Do This
No alcoholic beverages are allowed on school property. As a safety precaution, all bags, backpacks and coolers will be subject to inspection.
Parents are reminded that they will not be allowed onto DHS campus grounds to pick up their children until after the roads are clear. For the safety of all spectators, light colored clothing should be worn and if possible, spectators should carry a flashlight or a chemical light.
Lost and Found
An emergency services command post will be located in the parking lot near the football field entrance. This command post will serve as a “lost and found” location during the event.
