What works in treating high-achieving executives and high-status professionals for addiction or mental illness? And what doesn’t work? That’s the subject of a talk Wednesday, June 12 by Samuel Ball, Ph.D., the director of executive programs at Silver Hill Hospital.
— an announcement from the New Canaan Parent Support Group
High-achieving executives are like any other occupational group; they are vulnerable to addiction and mental illness.
However, executives take longer to engage in treatment, because the very nature of their status often contributes to significant denial.
At 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, the New Canaan Parent Support Group’s Pathway Session #6 will focus on “How Executives Find Recovery.” Ball, the speaker, also leads Steward House, a collaborative program of Silver Hill Hospital, Yale New Haven Health and the Yale School of Medicine.
The session will take place in the Wagner Room of the New Canaan YMCA, 564 South Avenue.
