You can attend a free Red Cross Zoom training session, “Hands-Only CPR,” to learn when and how to perform hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

To register, click HERE and fill out the form for this one-hour, online session on Monday, Nov. 8, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Stephanie Dunn Ashley, CEO of Red Cross New York Region, will introduce the instructor, Alex Poku, who has personally trained 100,000 people in emergency preparedness over the past few years.

Poku, has trained families, professionals, teachers, law enforcement personnel and people from diverse backgrounds in person and virtually.

The purpose of the course is to teach untrained bystanders how to perform hands-only CPR. Most of us feel helpless to act during a cardiac emergency because we don’t know how to administer CPR or are afraid of hurting the victim.

Anyone can learn hands-only CPR and save a life. There are no prerequisites or minimum age to participate in this session.

Headquartered in New York City, the Greater New York Region serves more than 10 million people in New York City, Long Island, Rockland, Westchester counties and Greenwich. This regional Red Cross responds to about seven emergencies and disasters a day across the region — including home fires, floods and collapsed buildings. The organization provides shelter, food, clothing, and emotional support at no cost to those in need.
