The Darien League of Women Voters will hold its Annual Meeting at the Darien Community Association (DCA) 274 Middlesex Road on Thursday, June 6.
There will be a short business meeting at 12 noon and high tea and speaker at 1:00 pm. The speaker will be Kate C. Farrar, executive director of the Connecticut Women’s Education and Legal Fund. She will discuss the many women’s issues that dominate the news today.
Prior to her present position Ms. Farrar was vice president of the American Association of University Women’s campus leadership program in Washington, D.C. She also served as associate director of national programs of wider opportunity for women. She was president of the Women under Forty Political Action Committee supporting young women running for office.
Kate received her B.A. in political science from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s in public administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. She was honored in 2017 with the University of Connecticut Honors Alumni Award and the Syracuse University Maxwell School Alumni Award.
