Beginning Poker Class Offered at Darien Library for the Next Five Thursday Evenings

Learn when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em — Darien Library is presenting a five-week class covering the basics of poker and including several different games.

The sessions, starting this Thursday, June 13, run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., each Thursday through July 18.

“Join us as we cover the basics and then play several different poker games including 5 card draw, 7 card stud, Texas Hold ’em (the one you see on TV) — over five weeks. No experience necessary,” the library said in an announcement.

Know when to walk away
And know when to run

You’ll need to register, here. “Registrants must be able to attend the first four sessions. Week five is play.”

“Poker is America’s game, played all over the world for matchsticks or for millions of dollars,” the announcement said. “Lucky for us: it’s a simple game to learn and can be played at any level of skill.”
