Andrew John Collins, of Stamford, passed away Tuesday July 5. He was 72. Andrew was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 30, 1943, to Horace and Mary Collins.
A funeral Mass will be held for Andrew Collins at 3 p.m. Sunday in Greenwich.
He worked as a driver for UPS for many years, and was also a dedicated volunteer fireman at Noroton Fire Department in Darien. Additionally, Andrew coached DJFL [Darien Junior Football League] football and Little League.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ma. Avelina (Velasco); his loving children, Daria, Melissa, Shawn and daughter-in-law Nicole; dear stepchildren Aira and Arman; cherished grandchildren Meghan, Zephyr, Noah, Madison, Miley, and Steven; and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 10 at St. Mary’s lower church, in Greenwich.
