Roselynde “Lynda” S. Barnes, age 70 of Millsboro, Del. formerly of Virginia and Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. She was born Aug. 11, 1945.
Lynda had a successful career as a buyer for women’s clothing with large department stores such as Gimbels and Strawbridge & Clothier. She then worked as an administrative assistant at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Darien and at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Berlin, Md. before her disability.
She is survived by her husband, James S. Barnes of Millsboro, assistant administrator at Christian Shelter, an emergency shelter for homeless men, women and children in Salisbury, Md.
Lynda is also survived by a son, Paul Shellenberger and his wife Alexandra and their two children, Sara and Chance Shellenberger, all of Oaklyn, N.J.; a sister, Lisa Caruso and two nieces, Sherie Caruso and Nicole Sawirka, all of the Philadelphia area.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Holy Trinity Cathedral, 11021 Worcester Hwy., Berlin, MD 21811.
