Darien Social, the downtown bar and eatery at the corner of Tokeneke Road and the Post Road on one side and 10 Center St. on the other, has announced it will be closing its doors on April 2 for the last time.
“JOIN US FOR OUR GOING AWAY PARTY” said an announcement Tuesday on the business’s Facebook page. “Sunday, April 2 / 5 PM — Final Closing / The final night! […] That’s All, Folks!”
On April 2, Darien Social will open at 5 p.m., and the band Pimpinella will play, starting at 9 p.m. The exact closing time wasn’t mentioned in the announcement.
“Thank You To All Our Customers. It has Been A Great 5 Years!” a message read on the Darien Social website.
The pub is closing a bit over five years after it opened in early 2012, serving American comfort food and a wide selection of craft beers and ales. A 2013 review in the New York Times rated the place “Good.”
