Each year, the citizens of the town of Darien band together to purchase and place wreaths on the graves of the veterans interred in the Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery.

Here’s where you can easily contribute to the project:

Pat Parlette helps place wreaths for WAA every year.

On two consecutive Saturdays, Oct. 8 and 15 2016, from 9 to 12 noon, in front of Palmer’s Market, Wreaths Across America sponsorships will be solicited at $15 per wreath.

Sponsorships will also be sold at Darien Doughnut from 8 to 11 a.m. and Goodwives Stop and Shop from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 22.

Additional wreath sponsorship collections are scheduled for Goodwives Stop and Shop from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 29, and Nov. 5.

The public is encouraged to purchase sponsorships and participate in the wreath dedication ceremony to be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. Last year an anonymous donor’s generosity helped us provide a wreath for every grave in Spring Grove Veterans Cemetery. We hope to cover every grave again this year.
