The workshop will be held on 6 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning October 3rd. Each workshop will run from 9am to 11:30 a.m.

Prior to Oct. 3, each participant will have a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with one of the workshop leaders to ask questions and get to know the instructors.

The cost for members to attend the workshop is $450 and $500 for non-members. “My Daughter, Myself”, is designed for moms of tweens and teens who wish to acknowledge and relieve the stress that undermines their daughter’s confidence, self-esteem, and happiness.

Whether it be the pressures to achieve academically, athletically and socially, the pressure to look good on social media, or the pressure to be “perfect” in every way, moms want and need to know how they can help their daughters.

In this 6-part workshop series mothers will learn how to have more connected conversations with their daughter, how to help her articulate her values to make truer choices, and how to create healthy approaches to achievement, social media and body image.

The series will be an interactive and reflective experience. It will be lead through information sharing, skill building, and home practice with your daughter. “My Daughter, Myself” is led by Andrea McDonough, a trained facilitator in Dr. Brené Brown’s The Daring Way program, and Kim Bealle.

Both are certified life coaches and moms of young women who grew up in the local area. They have both created and run local workshops for women around parenting, transitions and more.

To register for the “My Daughter, Myself” workshop series, please visit the Darien YMCA website. For questions, please call the Darien YMCA front desk at 203-655-8228.
