For the weekend of Easter Sunday, most government offices are closed (beginning Friday). For one bank and some other places, you may be surprised by what’s open and closed.
Metro-North has announced no service changes related to the holiday weekend.
Good Friday, March 30
- Darien Public Schools are closed.
- Darien Town Hall is closed.
- Federal government offices are open.
- Darien Library is open.
- Darien YMCA is closed.
- Darien Transfer Station/Recycling Center/Dump is OPEN normal hours
- U.S. Postal Service — the Post Office — is open.
- Connecticut state offices are closed.
- New York Stock Exchange is closed (check if you want to, but expect your bank to be open.)
- Citibank will be closed.
- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle offices will be CLOSED (but they’ll be open on Saturday)
- CTtransit buses in Stamford and Darien will operate on a normal schedule.
- Norwalk Transit District buses will operate on a normal schedule, but the Coastal Link buses from Norwalk to Milford along U.S. Route 1 will be on a Saturday schedule.
Holy Saturday, March 31
- Darien Transfer Station/Recycling Center/Dump is OPEN normal hours
- U.S. Postal Service — the Post Office — is open.
- Darien YMCA is open, with normal hours.
- Darien Library is open.
- CTtransit buses in Stamford and Darien will operate on a normal schedule.
- Norwalk Transit District buses will operate on a normal schedule, but the Coastal Link buses from Norwalk to Milford along U.S. Route 1 will be on a Saturday schedule.
- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle offices will be OPEN, starting at 8 a.m.
Easter Sunday, April 1
- Darien Library is closed.
- Darien YMCA is closed.
- CTtransit local and express bus service in Stamford and Darien will operate on a normal Sunday schedule.
- Norwalk Transit District buses will NOT operate, except for the Coastal Link buses on U.S. Route 1 from Norwalk to Milford.
- TD Bank will be closed.
