If you are a Vietnam-era veteran, you can be awarded the Connecticut Wartime Service Medal, to be given out at a ceremony Oct. 18 in Wethersfield at the state Department of Veterans Affairs.
Tickets are free, but they’re required. The event starts at 2 p.m., doors open at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be served and music played.
