Arts For Healing in New Canaan is beginning a new TheaterWorks program for children ages 8 to 12 with special needs. It will be held at Grace Farms on Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. from October through December.

TheaterWorks is a program that integrates therapy and education into a fun theater experience for individuals with special needs. Songs, stories, and scenes will be chosen by the group to match their age, ability and interests.
Through singing, acting and dancing as well as through creating scenes, props and costumes, participants will work on their communication and social skills and develop self-esteem and self-confidence.
At the end of the program, there will be a performance for parents, siblings, grandparents and friends, showcasing each individual, and allowing them to shine and be celebrated.
The TheaterWorks Program is made possible by grants to Arts For Healing from The Fairfield County Community Foundation and The Barbara Benton Davis Fund.
