High-school-age girls and boys who are interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and enjoy engaging in community service are invited to an open house for the STEM Venture Crew Unit 353 on Thursday.
This unique Crew is the first of its kind in the nation.

The open house will be held on Thursday Nov. 1 at 7 p.m .at the Andrew Shaw Memorial Scout Cabin, 140 West Ave.
The STEM Venture Crew offers opportunities for high school students who have a passion for STEM-related subjects and careers.
Crew members can:
—develop STEM experiments, activities, and curriculum;
—learn to run their organization as a business research team; and
—become qualified to teach STEM programs to elementary-school-age children in local after-school and summer programs.
Members can meet new friends and mentors, gain training and experience in STEM fields, and earn service hours in the crew.
Pizza will be served and new members are welcome at any time.
