A sprinkler started running in a building in the Heights at Darien housing complex on Tuesday, Feb. 22, damaging two apartments and a basement maintenance area, police said. At about 5 a.m., residents in one apartment heard something unusual, and 20 minutes later they saw water flowing from the sprinkler head above a closet. For an unknown reason, the fire alarm had been set off and activated the sprinkler. The water flowed into apartments 14D and 14B.
