On Thursday, April 21st , in preparation for Earth Day, The Darien Chamber of Commerce awarded the winners of the 9th Annual “Going for Green”awards. The event promotes environmental awareness and this pledge:
“I pledge to the community to make “Going for Green” part of my way of doing business and making lifestyle choices in Darien. As I make decisions for my business, or my life, I will consider green options to help make Darien and the Earth, a safe and hospitable home for present and future generations.”
This year “Going For Green” was sponsored by First County Bank, and the awards reception was held at the Darien branch on the Post Road. _________

Megan Palmer Rivera, who runs the Palmer’s Catering & Events division of Palmer’s Market, will be competing in Curtain Call (Kweskin Theatre/Dressing Room Theatre)’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ event this May. Palmer’s Market is offering customer’s something different next Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 25 and 26: A pop-up Italian restaurant in the store for two nights only. One of the Italian organizers of the event is also the Italian food exporter who teams up with Palmer’s for group tours in Italy featuring behind-the-scenes looks at gourmet food providers. This year, Palmer’s has three tours. How this came about

Both the pop-up restaurant and tours of Italy were suggested by an Italian export company, aTTavola, which has had a relationship with Palmer’s for years.
