Police: Wrong Station, Wrong Bicycle, Bad Timing for Man Straddling It
|
At 3:29 a.m. one recent night, a 28-year-old man who was taking a train to a friend’s home in Stamford had gotten off at the wrong train station, but he found a bicycle there which seemed abandoned, so he was planning to ride it to his friend’s home.Bi
That’s what police say the man told them Sunday, Nov. 29 when they say they found him at the Noroton Heights Railroad Station, straddling a gold colored La Jolla brand bicycle on the north side of the tracks. The rear tire, however, was deflated. Police described the incident with this account (with accusations not proven in court):
The man said he had been drinking earlier at a family member’s house in Bridgeport. Police took both the man and the bicycle into custody.
