A very tame, champaign-colored ferret found on West Avenue near the Stamford border on Sept. 21 has not been claimed by an owner, but it’s found a home anyway, police said. A woman who formerly owned one has agreed to adopt it, police said. She has all the requisite ferret equipment, “and was thrilled to be able to adopt it,” a police spokesman said.
If you’re the owner of this champagne-colored ferret, Darien police want to give it back to you. The very tame, possibly female creature was found on West Avenue near the Stamford border Wednesday morning, Darien police announced. Frankie, an orange male tabby cat, has been missing from the Gardener’s Center and Florist store at 1396 Post Road since around Thursday, March 10. Here’s the announcement on the store’s Facebook pages:

A black cat named Wrecker, 14 years old, is reported missing since Saturday from the area of Glenbrook Road and Arthur Place about a quarter of a mile from Darien. Please call the owner if he crosses your path and you can return him — it could be your lucky day, since there’s a reward.
