Something you can do for others during the long Thanksgiving weekend: Find some old coats you won’t use again and drop them off at Darien Ice Rink. Here’s the coat drive announcement from the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk:
Help us give warmth this winter by donating new or gently used coats at one of the following locations now through Nov. 30. (the Wednesday after Thanksgiving). Children and adult coats of all sizes are needed and will be sorted and distributed to Open Door Shelter, Person-to-Person, and Malta House.

This year’s tag sale will take place Sunday, Nov. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at JLSN headquarters (748 Post Road, Darien) and offer a variety of high quality clothes, shoes, accessories, books, toys, sporting goods, household items and much more. With members from all over Fairfield County contributing their best items, the selection is sure to be great and an event not to be missed! For $10 enjoy Early Bird entry from 9 am -10 am with access to the shopping before the general public.
Are you looking for a way to meet new people while volunteering in your community? Twice each year, the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk, Inc. (JLSN) invites local women to join an internationally recognized organization dedicated to improving communities through the leadership of trained volunteers. “We represent an area where many people are newcomers, moving to Stamford for work or relocating to our towns to raise their families,” JLSN President Stephanie O’Brien Putnam said. “When you join the Junior League, you’re meeting volunteer-minded women who are all looking for ways to better their community.” Women interested in learning more about the Junior League can attend our New Member Recruitment Social on Wednesday, Aug.
The Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk will host its annual spring tag sale on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the JLSN Headquarters, 748 Post Road, Darien. Early bird shopping will take place from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. for a $10 early entrance fee. For over 12 years, JLSN has presented an annual spring tag sale as a way to provide training for new members while also fundraising for community projects. This year’s sale will provide Fairfield County families with great deals on a variety of high quality clothing, accessories, books, toys, sporting goods, small electronics, furniture, and much more.
