Doug Allen Concert Online Benefits Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement

One Darien High School classmate, Doug Allen, is performing an online concert this Friday to benefit the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, founded by another DHS classmate, Scarlett Lewis, and they both hope you’ll watch and listen. — an announcement from Corbin Cares

This special concert with Doug Allen, sponsored by Corbin Cares, runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, April 24 on Zoom. Allen, born in Darien and a member of DHS’s first lacrosse team,  is a Nashville based singer-songwriter who is quickly becoming known for his high energy, acoustic shows and rich voice. Often compared to a cross between Zac Brown & John Denver he’s an artist whose songs, killer stage presence and voice make you take notice. Along with having two successful albums and several singles available online, Doug has had songs featured in Universal Pictures and Lions Gate Films. He keeps busy playing over 200 shows a year in theaters and corporate events between LA, Chicago, Nashville, and New York.

Darien Summer Nights is hosting a special concert fundraiser on behalf of the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, featuring the Spadtastics from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31 at Tilley Pond Park. The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement is a charitable organization with a mission to ensure that every child has access to Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).  We do this in honor of Jesse and to spread the message he left on his family’s chalkboard – Nurturing, Healing Love. — an announcement from the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement

The fundraiser also includes live music by Free Flow and special guest, Doug Allen. Plus, a photo booth, face painting, food trucks and Choose Love merchandise. After Darien native, Scarlett Lewis’ 6-year-old son was killed in his first grade classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary School, her friends from Darien High School rallied around to support her.

Family Coffeehouse Night with Doug Allen

Home-grown talent Doug Allen will perform his toe-tapping country music at the First Congregational Church of Darien on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Doug has four CDs released and two of his songs are featured in major motion pictures. Bring your family and friends for a fun evening. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, and dessert will be served. A charge of $10 per adult (children free) will help us cover our costs.
