Police: After Tussle with Juvenile, Darien Woman Held Without Bond

A 54-year-old Darien woman is being held without bond after she was arrested Feb. 16, when a juvenile in her household told police the woman threatened the juvenile with a knife and the two got into a minor physical confrontation. Darien police described the incident with this account (which includes accusations not proven in court and which doesn’t include any identifying information about the juvenile — something police are forbidden to give out under a new state law):

The woman told police she and the juvenile were arguing about the juvenile not studying, and the argument turned physical. The woman said she took the juvenile’s phone by force. The two pushed each other back and forth after the juvenile said he or she intended to call police.

Police: Loud, Violent Argument at Home Results in Disorderly Conduct Charge

A loud argument turned violent at a home on Allen O’Neill Drive on Jan. 20, leading to charges of disorderly conduct against a 39-year-old woman, police said. Darien police described the incident with this account, which is somewhat vague partly because police are limited under state law in what they can say about domestic violence incidents. Two family members got into an argument with the woman when they tried to have an intervention with her about a matter that police described as “several diagnoses,” and the family members said they were concerned about her well-being. When one person was taking an ashtray off a table, the woman punched that person, the other family member said.

Violent Outburst by Nephew, 54, at Elderly Aunt’s Home Results in Summons

A 54-year-old nephew at his aunt’s home on Sunday, Jan. 17, pushed over some furniture and pulled off a blanket that she was wrapped up in, causing her to fall from her couch to the floor, police said. Darien police issued the man a summons charging him with disorderly conduct. Darien police described the matter with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

At about 9:30 p.m., police received a call from a neighbor of the Darien woman to complain about a loud argument coming from the woman’s home. When police arrived, the woman told them she had an argument with her nephew, a Stamford resident, who had become very angry and started yelling.
