A 36-year-old woman confronted another woman at the Darien Avalon apartments late last month and yelled at her, part of an ongoing series of confrontations since 2015 that led to an arrest on a charge of second-degree stalking, Darien police said.

Police described what happened with this account (including accusations not proven in court):

A little before 9:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, a 39-year-old Darien woman reported to police that she had just been confronted again by Edna Da Silva of Bridgeport.

Da Silva approached the victim near her garage outside her home at Darien Avalon apartments at 137 Hollow Tree Ridge Road. Da Silva yelled at the woman about her husband, and the victim told Da Silva to leave her alone. Da Silva left.

The victim has told police that she’s had problems with Da Silva for at least two years, an Da Silva has been posting defamatory comments about her online. Police had made contact with Da Silva in at least four past incidents, including one previous incident in January.

When police spoke with her the next day, Da Silva admitted that she’d been at Darien Avalon the previous night. Police then applied for an arrest warrant charging Da Silva with stalking. She was informed when the warrant was approved, and on Monday, Feb. 2, she turned herself in at Darien Police Headquarters.

DaSilva was released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Feb. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
