But it’s despicable when scammers exploit such tragedies to appeal to your sense of generosity.

Rydell High’s most famous graduating class is going back to school (you could call it the 40th anniversary reunion). The highest-grossing musical of all time, Grease (1978), returns to the big screen as a sing-a-long at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9 at Avon Theatre in Stamford.

But there’s a lot more than that: You can dress up in 1950s clothing for the costume contest with prizes, and you can go to a 6:30 p.m. reception sponsored by Lucky’s Classic Burger & Malt Shop (who else?).

Two Projects to Close Highway Lanes on I-95, Route 7 in Norwalk

Two construction projects will result in highway lane closures in Norwalk — one long-term bridge rehabilitation project closing lanes on Interstate 95 through November 2019; the other, a paving project just begun on Route 7 — the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced.

Work on the I-95 bridge is expected to last 15 months, starting Aug. 16. The paving project on Route 7 is expected to last about a month.
