George Hickson, a resident of Darien since 1936, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 90 years old.

The name of the ‘Drip-Drop, Tick-Tock’ exhibit at Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport went beyond irony and well into eerie coincidence when sprinklers were activated and, you might say, the “clock stopped” on the exhibit opening, which will be postponed for two years.
At this rate, it’s probably fortunate that “Boom Boom” wasn’t part of the exhibit’s name.
Due to the pending demolition of two prime retail blocks in downtown Darien, Double Exposure Consignment Boutique has found a new home.

A 55-year-old Shelton man who worked as a manager at Stamford Twin Rinks, just over the border from Darien, was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to 21 months in prison after stealing almost half a million dollars from the business. He also was ordered to make full restitution to the business.
