Marks is “A great communicator, smart and a ‘go-getter'”

To the editor:

I’d like to communicate my strong endorsement of Susan Marks for Darien Selectman. I had the pleasure of getting to know Susan over the past year when we served on the Darien Fireworks Committee together.

We met at a small table in Panera Bread and I liked her instantly. She is an entirely genuine person, thoughtful in her ideas and suggestions and demonstrates terrific drive and initiative.

The fireworks involved many different groups in town including the Darien Chamber of Commerce, Board of Education and our police and fire departments. I observed the solid relationships and mutual respect Susan has with the leadership of each group.

Susan is a great communicator, smart and a ‘go-getter’ and exactly the type of person I want making decisions for Darien. She will absolutely have my vote in November!

Stevenson “works effectively with peers and state and federal officials”

I am happy to support incumbent Jayme Stevenson for another term as First Selectman. Jayme and I have worked together as co-chairs of the Darien High School Parent Teacher Organization and on The Community Fund’s Human Resources Planning Council.

Jayme has many qualities that make her a great leader. She has the ability to thoughtfully consider tough issues and the decisiveness to make the best decision to move forward. Jayme is a strategic thinker and considers long-term implications before setting a course of action. Perhaps her most impressive quality, however, is her ability to be a collaborative leader. She works effectively with peers and state and federal officials, regardless of partisanship.

Jayme has amassed a wealth of knowledge of local and state issues. She and her Darien First team have a vision for our town. With her talent and experience, we are lucky she is willing to continue to lead our town.

Marks “the kind of leader that others like working with”

To the editor:

I’ve known Susan Marks for more than 20 years, admired her leadership in numerous community volunteer positions during this time, and applauded her when she joined the Board of Selectmen two years ago.

Of her many contributions, the most noteworthy may be her unique ability to connect with people. Her positive energy encourages residents to get involved, discuss, and engage in town issues. She is the kind of leader that others like working with, toward a common goal — something that I think is important on a board, and in our small town.

Please join me on Nov. 3 in re-electing Susan Marks for Selectman and Jayme Stevenson for First Selectman, and in voting for Kip Koons for Selectman.
