Presentation: Transgender 101 What It Means To Be Transgender

Join us in the Conference Room of Darien Library for an informal, comfortable presentation on what it means to be transgender.

Learn from our presenter’s personal journey, including her victories andhardships. Topics to be covered include:

• The coming out process

• The transition process (G-rated)

• The acceptance process

• Terms and definitions

• Right and wrong questions to ask other transgender people

 

About the Presenter

Jill Celentano is a 57 year old Transgender woman who transitioned two years ago. In addition to being a realtor, and working at local theaters, Jill also works with an LGBTQ after-school program at a high school in New Haven.

She is in the process of organizing support groups for transgender kids and adults. This past January, she decided to return to college for her master’s degree in psychology to become a counselor working primarily with trans youth and adults.
