Darien Library is rolling the red carpet to make you feel like a star Saturday, June 9 at this year’s spring fundraiser for the library, “Scenes from the Silver Screen Gala.”
You can step behind the velvet rope, pose for a photo, enjoy paparazzi-worthy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and live entertainment while supporting your hometown library’s resources and programs.
Red carpet attire is completely optional.
By attending the “Scenes from the Silver Screen Gala,” you’ll be mingling with your friends and neighbors, and bringing new resources and speakers to the Library.
The event starts at 7 p.m., and the library will be closed all day on Saturday as the staff prepares.
All funds raised from the event will be dedicated to expanding library resources, including purchasing new books, technology, and supporting programs and guest speakers.
Tickets are $150 each ($100 is tax-deductible) and may be purchased online at the bottom of this Web page.
Online Auction Already Open
Can’t make it to the Gala? You can still get in on the fun and support your hometown library via bidding on items in the online auction, something new this year.
Items include trips, family events, art, wine, and even a fire truck ride. Each donation provides funding for all the books, technology, and programs that you love.
The bidding is now open — everyone can now bid on items prior to the event, and from home if you cannot attend.
