ABC in Darien is holding a “College Tailgate Gala” fundraiser starting at 7 p.m. Saturday , Sept. 26, at Wee Burn Country Club, and an online silent auction is now live on the Web.
Ticket prices start at $175 apiece.

Featuring a fabulous dinner, full bar, tailgate games and an incredible live and silent auction, attendees will also be entertained with the rockin’ tunes of The Short Bus Band (www.theshortbusrocks.com) from Greenwich, CT, named the “2015 Best of Gold Coast Local Cover Band.”
CBS 2 News anchorwoman Dana Tyler will emcee the evening; the auctioneers will be anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News and “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley and his wife Jane.
Since its founding in 1981, the mission of A Better Chance in Darien has been to provide talented young girls of color from inner cities a top notch high school education in preparation for college.
For over 34 years ABC in Darien has housed and educated 45 scholars who then graduated from Darien High School and went on to earn four-year degrees from competitive colleges, changing the course of their lives, the lives of their families and future generations. Several of these graduates and the current scholars will also join this event.
Ticket prices range from $175 each to $2500 for a table of 10, and can be purchased online at http://www.501auctions.com/abcdariencollegetailgate. The online silent auction is also now live through this link, and taking bids even from those that can’t attend the festivities Saturday night.
