At 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, a resident of 8 Meadowbrook Road went out to his SUV outside the house to find that it had been rifled through.
The 2016 Audi Q5 had been unlocked overnight, the same night that two unlocked vehicles were stolen several blocks to the north on Huckleberry Lane.
One of those vehicles was involved in a police pursuit several nights later in Westport and Fairfield. After the driver crashed the car, he and two other teenagers were arrested.
The glove box and center console were ajar and their contents were strewn over the front seats, the victim told police. It appeared nothing was taken.
Police asked neighbors if they’d seen, heard or knew of anything suspicious about the incident, but that turned up nothing.
