A homeowner on Canoe Trail called Darien police at 6:47 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 that after being away from home for about 90 minutes, when he returned, he found the front door somewhat opened.
The resident also found broken glass on the kitchen floor and all the kitchen cabinets left ajar. Police checked the rest of the home with the victim, but nothing appeared to be missing. The police announcement on Monday said nothing about any indication that other rooms had been entered.
The police announcement also did not say whether or not there was any indication of whether the front door had been forced open, or if there were indications of forced entry elsewhere at the house.
Police detectives went to the house to try to gather more evidence, and the investigation continues..
