Town Seal Patrol Car

The town seal is part of Darien Police Department's shield-like logo (coat of arms?). Here's a widely seen version from the side of a typical patrol car. Note the central gable (the pointy part in the middle) is not quite missing from the building, but it's got the same color as the roof.

Darien police said a loud argument between a son, 17, and his parents resulted in a visit on Saturday to the home on Allen O’Neil Drive, where they issued him a summons to appear in Juvenile Court in Stamford.

Police gave this account (including accusations not proven in court):

The initial call to police at 11:38 p.m. referred to a verbal argument. The parents, and later the boy, said he had been drinking alcohol and wanted to leave the home, but his parents told him not to. He threw some things in the house. No one was hurt or treated violently.

The boy had left by the time police arrived, and his parents tried to call him. He returned home at 12:40 a.m., Sunday and gave police the same story his parents had given them. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 8 in Juvenile Court.
