YWCA Greenwich is urging teens, parents, anyone who used to be a teenager and anyone who cares about young people to participate in an online, interactive presentation about teen dating violence on Monday, Feb. 28.
— an announcement from YWCA Greenwich
This is an immersive event exploring teen relationships. Participants will find themselves “in the shoes of” characters experiencing various forms of relationship abuse. These forms range from sexting, pregnancy, homophobia, and stalking.
Participants also will navigate through this event by making choices based on interactions with their dating partner, family, friends, counselors, and others.
“Compared to adults, teenagers are three times more likely to be involved in relationships that are unhealthy, abusive or violent,” said Rosie Enyart, YWCA Greenwich violence prevention coordinator.
“That’s why it’s so important to have conversations with teens about which relationship behaviors are healthy, and which behaviors are hurtful.”
February is Teen Violence Awareness Month.
