The Darien Old Timers Athletic Association will hold its 55th Annual Sports Awards Dinner on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at 6:15 at The Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s, 2748 Post Road, Darien.
This purpose of this annual dinner is to recognize the accomplishments of Darien athletes, coaches, and other individuals who support the opportunity for athletics to be part of the educational and community experience in Darien.
2016 Honorees and Award Recipients
This year’s honorees include:
- Local Honorees: Andy Danver, Fran Forte, and Harvey L. Thomas III
- 35th Annual Community Civic Award: The Sugar Bowl, owner Robert Mazza
- Special Jim Carlson Achievment Award: Grace Wohlberg
- Outstanding Female Achievement Award: Marj Trifone
- Outstanding Male Achievement Award: Rob Trifone

This annual dinner allows the Darien Old Timers to fund scholarships that are awarded to seniors at Darien High School and contribute to the community where there is a need.
Last year our organization awarded $4,000 to the Darien High School scholarship program and $2,200 to other community organizations.
