Deadline to Change Party Registration Before CT Primary is Tuesday
|
If you’re registered with one political party and want to switch to another in order to vote in the April 26 Connecticut primary election, your deadline is 4:30 p.m., tomorrow at the Darien Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall. You’ll have to go in person to Town Hall to register. In Darien voter registration is done either in the Registrars of Voters Office between 8:30 a.m. and 12 noon or in the Town Clerk’s office between 12 noon and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Unaffiliated voters and anyone unregistered to vote can register in person by April 25, the day before the primary. Here’s an excerpt of an announcement from the office of Secretary of State Denise Merrill:
January 26 is the last day that voters can change their party enrollment for the 2016 presidential primary, which can easily be done online here. Please follow the directions carefully as people without a valid driver’s license will still need to mail their completed registration change to their town election official or Secretary of the State.
