Police: An Arrest After Woman Gets Bruises, Black Eye and Concussion in Beating From 39-Year-Old Man

A woman suffered bruises, a black eye and a concussion after a 39-year-old man she knew assaulted her in January — not the first time he assaulted her — and later he threatened her, according to Darien police. Police said that soon after they had applied for and received an arrest warrant for the man, the victim called police at 5:30 a.m. to tell them he was on her property. Police went there and took him into custody. Darien police described what happen with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

Hafi Edge, 39, of Ridge Street in Norwalk, was involved in two violent altercations with the woman, last December and January. In December, the two got into an argument about something concerning his cell phone.

Police: Man, 58, a Gun Owner, Threatened Darien Resident on Facebook, Said He’d ‘Need a Lot of Body Bags’

Richard Koproski, a 58-year-0ld Woodford, Vermont resident, told a family member on Facebook that he would shoot him in the head, and that he has plenty of guns to do it with, among other, similar threats, police said. A Darien resident came to Police Headquarters and provided officers with printouts of threats Koproski allegedly made against him. The man said Koproski, who lives near the Darien man’s Vermont home, “had been becoming more unpredictable over the years,” and he knew Koproski had a collection of firearms, police said. Those threats led Darien police to get an arrest warrant and notify Vermont state police about it, police said. Vermont state police said they received word on Jan.
