Presented by Deana’s Educational Theater (who also brought us “The Yellow Dress”), “The Party” explores the relationship between three characters, Jordan, Kyle and Allie, who are in college and enjoying campus life: Parties, games, and “hooking up” become a regular part of college life until one night something goes horribly wrong.

Adults and teenagers are invited to two separate screenings of Escalation — a powerful and emotional engaging film that illuminates the warning signs of unhealthy and potentially dangerous relationships. The film has been described as “eye-opening” yet deeply recognizable. The screening (running time: 38 minutes) will be followed by conversations about empowerment and next steps. Students: Monday, March 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Depot, 25 Heights Road
Adults: Tuesday, March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Darien Library, 1441 Post Road

Men walking on the street in red high heels want money from you. Not only are the police aware of the situation, they’re some of the men doing the soliciting. Don’t worry — it’s for a good cause. Darien men who are first responders — members of the police and fire departments, along with men from Post 53 — are scheduled to walk down the Post Road for a mile or so on Saturday, Oct. 3 to raise funds for domestic violence services.
