The hot weather that enveloped the area on Sunday is expected to continue Monday and Tuesday with high temperatures in the 90s before the thermometers lower into the 80s later in the week, the National Weather Service says. No heat advisory has been issued for Fairfield County, but there’s one in New York City and parts of New Jersey until 6 p.m. According to the weather service’s Darien-specific forecast as of 7:56 a.m.), the temperature is supposed to reach 91 Monday and 90 on Tuesday. There’s a possibility of a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. and Monday night, but it’s not probable. Same for Tuesday after 3 p.m. and Tuesday night. Hot-weather health advice from the American Public Health Association: No need to do something strenuous outdoors if you don’t have to; drink plenty of water (even if you’re not thirsty); wear light-colored cotton clothing outdoors.
