Finance Director Kate Buch Named New Town Administrator

An announcement Wednesday afternoon from First Selectman Jayme Stevenson:

It is my pleasure to announce that the Board of Selectmen has appointed Kathleen Clarke Buch to the position of Town Administrator, effective Sept. 14, 2015. Ms. Buch brings almost 30 years of experience in municipal government to this position, including 25 years in chief financial positions in Connecticut municipalities. Since 2000 Kate has served as the Town of Darien’s finance director and has worked closely with former town administrators and elected officials developing strategic and operational plans for the Town. In addition, Kate has helped manage the Town and Police Pension Plans in conjunction with the Pension Committee and professional advisors.

Town Administrator Karl Kilduff Hired to Head CT Housing Finance Authority

Town Administrator Karl Kilduff has been named the new executive director of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and start in the new job in August, the agency announced. The chairperson of the agency’s board, Evonne Klein, worked with Kilduff when she was Darien’s first selectman. Klein now heads the state Department of Housing. [Update: Kilduff has been working for the town government since early 2008. He said Monday night that he hoped to provide CHFA decisionmaking with more of the perspective of what those involved in municipal governments are concerned with in housing matters.]
