Police: A Push and Toss of Hot Coffee Will Get You an Appointment in Court

A 60-year-old Darien woman, in an argument with another person at her home, pushed the other person and threw hot coffee on that person on Saturday, Darien police said. Police said that when they were called to the home they saw coffee on the front of the victim’s clothing. Police did not indicate that the victim was injured in any way. The Darien woman was given a misdemeanor summons to appear Monday, April 8 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 43-year-old Darien man violated a restraining order last Tuesday, Jan. 22 when he slept on a couch rather than the basement of his home on Hoyt Street, police said. Darien Police described what happened with this account, which includes accusations not proven in court:

Police were called to the home at 12:14 a.m. on a report of an argument between the man and another resident. When they arrived, the resident said there was an active restraining order against the man. Police confirmed that.
