At 12:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, a 31-year-old Darien man was standing by the platform at Noroton Heights Railroad Station, apparently heavily intoxicated, with a cut on his right hand, Darien police said. Someone had called Darien police to report that he had broken the window of a vehicle. Police described what happened with this account, including accusations not proven in court:

A Metropolitan Transportation Authority officer was already at the scene when Darien police arrived. They noticed that the man, James Reardon of Raiders Lane, Darien, seemed heavily intoxicated.
